was just watching the old vids from PAE on youtube. if anyone is hankering for a trip down memory lane, i highly recommend those videos(: i tell you, once it starts playing, *BOOM* nostalgia galore. i never thought i could miss a period of time so much. the light-heartedness and carefree-ness was seriously amazing compared to what alot of us are going through now (*cue scary music* 6 WEEKS TO PROMOS!)
but i trust that things will work out, and that we can sustain this blog for just a little longer, if not for the rest of our JC life and more.

This blog is kind of dead. Even I hardly come back here anymore. -gasps- I'm glad to announce, however, we have lasted longer than most PAE class blogs! So it's kind of like a victory in our own rights.

I'm not going to go on about how I think it should be revived and all, because I'm sure we all didn't do too well for our Common Tests and people are much better off studying your Econs/Maths/Lit than to upkeep a santi blog with our santi faces on it.

hello darlings! hahaha i sound super high right? YOU ARE ALL DEARLY MISSED! MISSED! MISSED MISSED! it's like super super super long since i've blogged here. dont know what to blog but anyway, just came back from penang and ive lost two and a half weeks of mugging time. everyone in hci is mugging away. i kinda sense the urgency but i cant feel the zest of the mugging mood. oh well.

hmmm. wanna hear about my holiday? IT WAS FUN!

yeah but i shall post about another (funny?) mishap and hopefully entertain you guys once again cos its been a loooonnng time since i blogged?

haha. i had a lot of fun trying watersports and stuff. the beach wasnt existent before the tsunami. story goes like this, the tsunami washed up a hell lot of sand and water and POOF instant beach behind the hotel i was staying at. tried parasailing and jetski-ing, kinda like a motorbike on water. i got to drive it around the ocean where the ppl manning the watersports counter could see me. SO FUN SO FUN. best part is that you won;t get wet at all except for the occasional splashes that only wet you up till your knees.

so silly me went to "park" the jetski three meters from shore after my ten minutes of hellriding across the huge atlantic ocean (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA) yeah. and the staff was telling me that i should park it closer to shore but nvm yeah he said i could just jump off the jetski since the water three meters from shore was only knee deep.
ME: eh. mister. sure anot ah? i can't even see the floor! (the sandy floor)
STUPID STAFF: can la. see that guy there. its very shallow la.

there was some tourist lying in the water. and the water was up till his neck! i could see the guys head sticking out of the water.

ME: eh its very deep leh.
STUPID STAFF: no la. he's sitting down.
ME: OK you say one ah.
so i took a step off the jetski and confidently placed my foot into the water. and i expected my foot to come in contact with the sea floor. guess what. WHAT THE FLIPPING HECK I FELL INTO THE WATER. and i was soaked to the skin. and the stupid staff was standing on the shore laughing at me.

We'll have it on the third week of June. well, it's just one day, so please try to make it, I don't care if you have any church cell group blah blahs, you know that its so rare that we can finally meet up as a class, you can meet up with your cell grp everyday after the outing, i don't care. I don't even think we'll have another outing after this....sadly. Due to MANY reasons.

Is religion getting in the way of relationships? well, please, you don't have to answer that. I'm not a christian so I might be biased. Continue worshipping the one and only truly and the only real almighty God. Amen.

Hey santis, class blog is dying. But then I don't blame anyone - I bet the tests and surprise quizzes are coming in fast right now, seeing that it's already May. Hmmmpppffff. The sad life of being a JC student in Singapore.

Life has been alright in SAJC so far for me, and I think the others are also having a good time. My class is getting better and better with every passing day. Oh, was I so wrong to assume they were a bunch of stuck-up prudes when I first met them! :D

my pw group officially sucks. and we're doing stupid stupid LEVI STRAUSS who is like so ultra non-impactful to anyone at all? like he invented the jeans, BIG DEAL.

grr. officially failing H2 maths. should just drop out of sch! haha. SYF is coming, 11th May, same day as SA band, but different grouping...- all the best syrah! hahaha. i'm finally playing in SYF, yay me, even though its just a woodblock and tambourine and suspended cymbal. haha.

ohya by the way, great concert, syrah! yea, i was there, behing nil and geraldine. haha, i really miss my ex-section=(

i was at hwa chong for a band exchange last sat. was wondering if audrey was in sch... there was VJ,TJ,RJ and HCI bands there. and this is my "grading" of the bands, by mine and the tenor sax guy in NY's judgement: top band is TJC. den HCI or NY. den VJC. and lastly RJC. haha. i dint like RJ's playing. at all.

what else do i have to say? miss all of you. percussion gets crazier everyday. haha. there's this eccentric timpani player who likes to walk around OUTSIDE the band room with no shoes on. and his shoes are this weird bluish greenish boot cut converse shoes. and he wears toe-socks. and he is super duper duper emo. talks little and mostly just mooches around the timpani by himself. haha. he is just weird lah. but he is an excellent percussionist, i can't deny that. and he is appeal student, so how did i even get in to NY with 'competition' like him?? maybe brendo tan liked me(ewww. i dunn like him much though.)

okay people. its semi-official. i thought that we could hold our marathon throughout the night, and pris had the genius brainwave(<--Pris typed that) to hold the "outing" on the night(7pm?) before labour day (30th april) cos we won't have to go to school the next day! brilliant i know. the only thing that is still undecided is the venue. any volunteers for us to trash your house? haha kidding. hahahs. and last saturday was A REAL EMBARRASSING DAY. and i mean REAL EMBARRASSING. we had core modules. so that module happened to be public speaking. we were taught about body language, clear diction, eye contact and blah blah. there came the last part, everyone had to take turns to speak about a random topic for two and a half mins. I SWEAR THAT WAS THE WORST THING EVER MAN. more addition to the torture. the topic you had to talk about would be drawn from a box, everyone writes a topic on a slip of paper and puts it in the box. so you go up and pick a piece of paper, and talk about the topic on it. for some unlucky reason, my topic was G STRINGS. WHAT ON EARTH AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY?!

me: "erm erm. my topic is on g strings"

-not a sound-

-i hear someone scoff-

-the class stares on-

me: to me ah, g strings are a... a....a ...... DEVICE. errr.errrr that every girl knows about. its a .....a....a.. FASHION DEVICE.... (thinking to myself: someone please shooot me! what the hell am i talking about?! g strings are pieces of cloth that only ppl who wanna show off their legs wear. i think so la. not too sure myself)

me: g strings are something all girls like. (WHAT ON EARTH DID I JUST SAY?!)

-the class feminist glares at me. i feel a hole being burnt through me from her laser vision.-

so i shuffled around a little.

then an idea struck me.

me: "er, you guys know cello right?"

and i try pathetically to use hand gestures to show them what a cello is. waving my hands about like a lunatic.

me: " cellos have g strings . so when the string ensemble conductor says 'pluck your g strings' yeah thats what we do. pluck our g strings"

then two seconds of silence. i look towards the speaker for help. he shrugs at me. then i just mumbled something that i was done and that's about all for my topic. rushing back to my seat. my face was tomato red, according to my classmate.

today.

thinking that my classmates had long forgotten about my speaking mishap, I WAS WRONG. we were discussing the arts in gp. and we were supposed to cite examples about arts being close to us.

I can't believe I have to resort to posting from the school's com. Technology is really giving up on me.

Oh, the woes of maintaining technology and me!

And the weird thing is that it seems to just happen to me alone. I don't hear of other people having problems with their recovery discs and routers breaking down (fused, actually) just because the electricity supply got cut off during a thunderstorm in Serangoon Gardens.

Yeah, so that was what basically happened to me.

eh you guys must post MORE. life here in hci is a mixture of the good and bad. okay let's start with the bad first. i have three cse reflection logs and essays to do, aq practice question for gp, pw discussions and research, and a STUPID math test that i totally dont have confidence for. Haha. Here’s me just crapping abt what’s going on in life at NY… hmm, let’s see… firstly of all, I have decided I have to stop comparing my current class against the ex-08. cos (for obvious reasons) the standard has been set way too high. Haha. For those still in SA, I miss u! for those in other places, I miss u too!

Anyway life is really gross rite now, cos of some very much undesirable pple in my class, which I will not mention, but the retainees-and-neighbourhood-schools clique is still fighting back at the elite’s clique! Yay us. Haha. I think those who met me at mac may know abt the elites, haha. Oh well, just adds totally to the NANYANG experience. Haha!

Anyway, I’m quite satisfied here, and YES it is very cheena. Haha.

Band is the only thing to live for in school life. How I long and wait for the Wednesdays and Fridays… you know how much different is the atmosphere in SA band and NY band? Well, I learnt so much more in SA but the people are so much more friendly in NY band. Even though I miss miss miss my most lovable section from SA (SA percussion was one of the things holding me back…) haha. But started anew in the NY percussion and things aren’t going too badly… found my crazy woman(every perc section HAS to have at LEAST one) so things are picking up…

So things are going really well here then… anyone want to hear the chronicles of dominic just say the word and I’ll start posting episode one… for those who don’t know dominic( lucky you=) ) he’s just an irritating guy in NY. If things are boring in this blog when I next visit I’ll post lorr…

I don't quite know what I'm doing here even though it's 12.09am, the start of Monday and I'm only halfway thru my Econs essay. Oh well. My brain's not exactly working at top speed at this time of the morn.

I was getting a little nostalgic thinking about the old A08 (as usual) in bed just now, and I do remember that I had a funny incident to remind you guys about - I think it concerned Wei Chiang - but I can't remember it now. I've SSTM. That stands for super-short-term-memory if you guys didn't already know.

Life concert was pretty good on Friday. Though I went home a little too late and my mom went on for about 15 mins about how worried she got blahblah but then it was ok in the end eventually. It helps by keeping your cool, I've learnt. I really really miss Mel tho haha! Met her at Macs for a while on Friday and did a whole lot of gossiping haha! Oh well, we are after all, girls.

There was a rugby match in school yesterday!!! I almost tore my hair out when I found out. How could I have not known?!?! Ok wait. How would I have known anyway. I was avidly reading the sports events notice board on Friday and it didn't even half mention this Saturday match. Bleah. So much for keeping the students updated :p Ppfffhhhtttt.

Well. I suppose I have to go now. Finish that blasted Econs essay I s'pose. Just as a note of caution, DON'T try out Windows Vista peeps. The whole thing about that 'WOW' experience is actually pretty true - as in 'WOW! This damn software is actually more retarded and un-userfriendly than XP!' WTS. I hope Microsoft gets sued for anti-trust sooner than expected. Bill Gates should compensate me for wasting all my time trying to update drivers just so that my older XP software can work on this retarded system which is so damn slow and distorts my graphics. Bleah!

a very brief background of "santi"

Sisky Biz, the bassist of The Academy Is... [yes, ellipsis and all] had a high school enemy named "Santiago".
the boys of TAI decided to irritate him by using "santi" for greeting him and whatnot.

after that, they kind of got used to saying "santi" a lot, so now they say it as an offering of goodwill and such.

early last year, their drummer, The Butcher, got it tattooed on his right buttock, thinking that the rest of the guys were going to do the same.
he has regretted since and now has a GIANT geisha tattooed over.
if you're interested, you can see "santi" on his buttock in the video "slow down".

last week, Sisky had HIS buttock tattooed with a pretty little "santi" and they showed his tattooing experience on their website, theacademyis.com
he looks happy.

i read somewhere that Santi had associates like Panti, Canti and Fruscianti.

anyway, they've named their up and coming album...

"santi" started out as a substitute for "hello", "goodbye", "thank you", "you're welcome", "sorry", etc etc.

Hey. I had quite a horrible time in the presentation workshop today. I'm still willing to give my new class more time to warm up but...PETA?!?! What in the world was I thinking of?!?! Chickens, cows and pigs, must've been. Now everyone in 07A07 thinks I'm a vegan freak. And the worst thing is that I'm not even contemplating going vegetarian!!! Cos you'll get dark circles under your eyes for a lack of protein AND your get these trembling spells (like Nilah)

Just a word out there to any inspiring vegans - don't stop eating meat all at one shot - you won't survive. It's a step by step process.

hello everyone! i'm back to blog again while i still have the time. and i do hope everyone will keep this blog alive with posts and stuff. hmmm.. here's what my first three days with my hc class is like. we have around thirty people. and all the guys are ip students from chi high and majority of the girls are ip students from nygh. oh well, at first i thought it was pretty hard to mingle cos most of them have known each other since sec school and they're a really close knit bunch. but i guess i was wrong cos they're a super wacky bunch that do not seem like muggers [altho i havent really seen them mug yet] the sort that will talk about feather duster sales in econs and the guys are seriously avid gossipers. however hc does live up to its name as the mugger school. in the mornings you can actually see ppl mugging furiously but there are some who just sit at the ct benches and chat. oh ya and my make up lectures to put me back on track with the first intakers come with lots of hmwk. my notes for first two months cse are nearly half an inch thick. and im totally lost in math. still unsure of the formulas for asymptotes and ellipses. oh whatever! still trying to master ap gp stuff cos i kinda forgot over the hols. food here is nice. like how sa has a cafe they have this place selling hotdogs, club sandwiches and all the finger foods. its supposed to be called 'good new cafe'? but everyone calls it 'fish tank'. probably because thats what it looks like. hahahs. hmmmm. oh ya. and the walk to the nearest macdonalds at serene centre is a killer. walking there already makes me miss sa cos hc is smack in the middle of a private housing estate? and the nearest so called 'shopping malls' like the old and crumbling coronation plaza and beauty world are really boring places to shop. unless you're going there to eat. hahas. guess that's hc for me now. gtg. will tell you ppl more when i have the time... cos there's loads of catching up for me to do. econs is a killer here. but thank god the lecturer talks sense. unlike miss ceterisss paribussss [did i spell it right?] anyway, you are all missed! must must must have a cg outing one of these days. or a chalet?? hahahas. take care! Hey! Ok, I don't have many pictures to offer on yesterday's CG outing, in fact I only have 1, cos Nilah will mince me, drop me into a live volcano and send my molten remains to the evil white bitch of Gnarnia if I post the one of her drinking from that oversized ~~jug~~ mug of Passionfruit! HAHA! :D

That was the remains of whatever we could not finished. The worst (or should I say funny) part of it was that when Joyce finally reached Fish and Co. (like after we'd finished eating, was scratching our bellies and irritating the socks off each other with our lame jokes) we actually offered it to her and she wanted to eat it! We tried to stop her but she inisisted that she was hungry and it didn't look dirty anyway...

Heyas Joyce, since when has anyone noticed the dirt on food that gave them food poisoning like a night later? Haha. Germs are microscopic, remember.

Oh, and did I mention that one of the flags has Matheus's saliva on it cos he sucked/picked his teeth with it?

Hello, wonderful Duffy and Swanky Hil is here to blog again, haha.

Okay, not to put a damper on things, but if there's one thing I can't stand, it's spammers. So, I have taken the liberty to block off the IPs of the spammers and deleted all the messages. Look, it's not nice to spam, kids. I honestly hope it's not one of us spamming (because it's such a waste of time). But anyway, if you find that your IP has been blocked even thought you aren't a spammer (it's possible because some ISPs share IP address across its subscribers, yada yada), just drop me an IM or anything.

Anyway, just wanted to add how much I enjoyed myself today. Albeit burning a gigantic hole in my wallet eating at Fish & Co. (Next time, can we have school caf chicken rice?), it's been amazing to meet you with y'all. I felt like I haven't met everyone in eons, haha. And the guys sport sexy new haircuts now. And everyone looks so nice and glam in outside clothes. :D

Anyway, I don't have any photos (amazingly), because my camera died on me. All the photos are with Jillian, go pester her for it.

IT REALLY SUCKS. why? cos hci has this stupid make up holiday remedial lecture thing that sucks out all the joy in march hols. and thats why i couldnt make it to the cg outing...lectures are on everyday for half a day or so. so so so so so sorry guys. must must MUST plan another outing pretty pretty please?? it's only been a week or so but i miss all the stuff that adds to the fun we had during first two months. animal games, double whacko, debating over whether to skip chinese [oh ya has anyone posted the *ahem ahem*'s edited pic yet? hahahahahahas.] hope sajc hasnt ruined your march hols like hci did to mine. well, time flies so i guess we should really give the promos our best shot! 07A08 YEAH!
